THE STEFAN/ELENA/DAMON OF IT ALL | Elena’s transition into a vampire – and the remembrance of all the memories Damon erased – will have big consequences for her relationships with both Salvatores. “All these things that she’s experienced with Damon and with Stefan will have different context for her as she’s becoming this new person,” previews Plec. “This circumstance, which is pretty horrific, is going to make them all care about each other even more deeply and argue even more intensely and fracture even more greatly and love as deeply as possible.”
Although Damon is back to his Season 1 ways, “it’s certainly not the end of Delena, as anyone might be afraid,” insists Plec. “In fact, in a way, it’s the beginning of the beginning.” But just because Elena now remembers Damon’s confession of love and that she met him first doesn’t mean she’ll be regretting her decision to stick with Stefan. “I wouldn’t want her to be so fickle,” says the EP. However, the regained knowledge will “imbed itself in her brain a little bit. As she continues to look at herself and her relationship and friendship with Damon, it’s all those new pieces of information that will be important along the way.”
TWO HYBRIDS AND A VAMPIRE | You may have heard that clothes will fly when Tyler and Caroline reunite. But will the hybrid actually be himself during the happy embrace, or will Klaus still be in possession of him? “You’ll just have to wait and see,” Plec replies coyly. “I definitely think that Klaus is going to unwittingly provide a little bit of mistaken identity hijinks in the first episode back.” Meanwhile, a fresh face who has “a history” with Tyler will arrive. “We’ll start to understand that this is a friend of his, who’s been very important to him in the past,” teases Plec. So should Caroline and Tyler fans be worried? “Any time a hot, new girl comes to town, somebody’s got to be worried about something. But Tyler and Caroline have a really solid bond, a really solid relationship. So it takes somebody really special to get in the way of that.”

Now that The Vampire Diaries‘ Elena Gilbert is turning into a vampire, there’s one question on everyone’s mind: How long will it be before she has some hot, vampy sex?
The short answer: You may have to wait a while. “I’m not going to say she’s not having loads of vampire sex off camera that we’re not showing, but we have not yet shot a complete sexual act this season between Elena and anybody,” executive producer Julie Plec tells TVGuide.com.
In truth, sex is the last thing that Elena (Nina Dobrev) will be thinking when the show returns in October. As Elena told Stefan in the Season 2 episode “The Last Day,” Elena never wanted the vampire life for herself and two seasons later, her feelings haven’t changed. “This is a girl who really, truly valued her humanity and … always wanted the choice of how to live her life,” Plec says. And while Elena considers not completing the transition, “that moment is fleeting [because] she recognizes she has a responsibility to her brother to stick around,” Plec says.
As Elena goes through her transition, the opposing views about how one should feed and live their life will cause conflict between her two greatest allies — Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley).
“Damon’s point of view in all of this is that anything [Stefan’s] trying to do to avoid Elena being a real vampire is just a delusional delay of the inevitable,” Plec says. “While he can understand and appreciate that Stefan wants to protect her, [he feels he’s] making a huge mistake because when all is said and done, [Damon thinks,] ‘Name one vampire who went through the newbie phase and didn’t take a life. Name me one vampire that didn’t go off the rails, name me one vampire who didn’t turn off their humanity for a while.’ So that’s where the conflict lies between Stefan and Damon. Stefan wants to protect her from that at all costs, and Damon is saying, ‘It’s going to happen’ you may as well rip the Band-Aid off and let it bleed.”

Now that Elena will transition, how soon before memories she was compelled to forget come back on The Vampire Diaries? — Maxine
NATALIE: We all love a good flashback and fortunately for Delena fans, in the premiere episode Elena will remember a very important moment from Season 2: when Damon told her he loved her. But unlike past flashbacks we’ve seen, Elena doesn’t realize right away that she’s watching a memory from the past rather than experiencing a moment in the present.

TV Guide got the scoop from The Vampire Diaries EP Julie Plec about whether Elena will still be with Stefan in season 4.
Even though Elena chose Stefan in The Vampire Diaries finale, does Damon stand a chance next season? —Jenna
NATALIE: Lest we forget, Damon compelled Elena to forget key moments, including the fact that he was the first Salvatore brother she met. Unfortunately, this revelation won’t suddenly make her change her mind, executive producer Julie Plec says, noting that Damon will be on the outs with both Elena and Stefan in the premiere. “He’s actually feeling alone and how he starts to fill that void will be part of his journey as we go forward this season,” Plec says. “He needs a new drinking buddy.”

According to TV Line Michael Ausiello, Elena won’t be getting revenge on Rebekah in season 4, but Damon will do it for her and it’s not Rebekah he goes after.
Question: It’s maybe a little too early to ask this, but do you know whether vampire-Elena will be taking some kind of revenge on Rebekah for causing her death when The Vampire Diariesreturns? —Gabriela
Ausiello: I’m going to assume Elena has her hands full completing her transition to vampire. One person who does have revenge on the brain is Damon, who blames poor Matt for Elena’s little predicament.

In an interview with TV Guide, The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder talks about tonight’s episode and what Damon has in store for The Originals.
On Thursday’s episode, Damon and Stefan will gather their forces and go after Klaus and Co. But unlike previous plans, the brothers finally have the deadliest weapon in their possession: a piece of white oak tree.
“Damon wants to wipe them off the face off the earth!” Ian Somerhalder told TVGuide.com. “We should take their house, because they have a serious house, and they have a hot sister, we should take her too. But other than that we should just kill them.”

Bianca: Vampire Diaries scoop? Is there anything at all you can say about The Originals coming back?
The return of The Originals brings with it some great sibling rivalry. None of them are happy with Klaus for having carted them around in coffins—and he gets to see what it’s like being on the receiving end of their anger. Translation: Poor (hot) Joseph Morgan might need a hug. Any of you fans willing and able? Well, get in line!
nickstives: Is it true Damon is hooking up with someone other than Elena? Say it ain’t so!

TV Guide recently spoken to The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder at the People’s Choice Awards 2012 and they talk about a scene he shot were possibly Damon naked in bed with Katherine. Uh Oh, Delena fans.
Ian Somerhalder told me at the People’s Choice Awards that he’d just shot a Vampire Diaries scene where Damon “wakes up naked with another woman who is a hot vampire.” Might this be Katherine? Nina Dobrev (Elena/Katherine) hints, “I can’t say whether or not I’m in that scene, but it is a character fans are familiar with and Elena will definitely have an opinion on it.”

Entertainment Weekly recently spoken to Julie Plec about the new character Samantha Gilbert and Katherine is coming back.
Hi Sandra! I’ve been reading a lot online recently about a new character coming to The Vampire Diaries, Samantha Gilbert, and that she’s supposedly a new love interest for Damon?? As a hardcore Delena shipper, please SAY IT ISN’T SO!!! — Sophie
It isn’t so. “She’s not for Damon,” EP Julie Plec assures. “We’ll meet her in the past, not the present. She’s somebody that we meet in not present-day Mystic Falls.” All better, Soph?
Anything about TVD‘s Stefan/Katherine? Thanks! — Rose
Though she’s currently on the down low, I’d expect to see Katherine very soon. “She’s gone underground, and so it will be a surprise when we see Katherine again. As Katherine tends to do, she’ll pop up sometime and throw everyone for a loop,” says Plec.
Entertainment Weekly has the scoop about Bonnie’s new power and what big part she has this season.
Because I can never have enough, any scoop on Bonnie? #TVD — Jenna
First, can we take a beat to recognize the epic-ness of last night’s episode? (Miss it? Read the recap here.) Second, you know that coffin dream that proved to be more accurate than initially thought? There are more of those to come. “I love that they brought in that aspect of her, because a lot of the stuff that Bonnie experiences in terms of being a witch is very external and all about doing a spell and a lot of physicality,” says Kat Graham. “I’m all about the mind, so the fact that they basically are shooting the character in kind of a parallel universe [in those dreams] is super exciting to me and definitely one of my favorite things that they’ve done this season with her.” This isn’t the first time Bonnie has had premonitions. In season 1, a vision predicted when Coach Tanner died, but since then, we haven’t had any more indicators of her future-telling abilities. “Now it seems like they’re evolving it into more actual dreams or visions in her sleep,” Graham adds. And per EP Julie Plec, “Her dreams are all leading her somewhere.” For more TVD scoop, read what Plec had to say about last night’s midseason return and next week’s episode (naked Damon!).
